MARY KAM, MSc, RCC #1936
I have been a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors since 2002 and hold a master's degree in clinical psychology. Guided by the belief that every human being has the potential to thrive, I bring compassion, a positive outlook, and over 30 years of counselling experience to my work - reflecting a deep commitment to the profession.
Therapy is a journey of reflection, discovery, learning, healing, and self-care, with the ultimate goal of enhancing quality of life.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life, including immigrants, refugees, and international students. This diverse experience has reinforced the importance of a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and client-centred approach in my practice.
I have the opportunity to publish "CBT - Does it work well with Chinese population in Vancouver?" on Visions BC's Mental Health and Addiction Journal. I have delivered over 300 workshops and group sessions, presented numerous times in national and international conferences, and been a frequent guest speaker on television and radio programs.
I am honoured to be the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee and Canada 150 Community Leadership Awards.
I am also an approved service provider for ICBC.
